Learning to Scuba Dive is not as easy as riding a bike. Though they are both fun and exciting hobbies, riding a bike is easier because it can be learned outside your house and only needs balance. While biking is easy to learn, scuba diving on the other hand is more sophisticated than biking because here, you need gears, swimming pool deep enough for training, a professional diving instructor and a license that proves that you passed the scuba diving course you have attended. It’s quite hard and expensive to do scuba diving but it is worth to try for those who want to experience thrill and excitement.

Learn how to Dive

According to some studies, one of the reasons why deaths underwater occur is the lack of proper training. Lack of proper training involves not knowing how to operate diving gadgets and not knowing some theories that can help when the need arises.

That is why it is advisable to learn the basic from a professional diving instructor because they have the experience and knowledge that is suitable to teach you skills you need. If you are already decided to learn scuba diving, there are some companies here that are accredited by PADI and one of them is cocktaildivers.com, a company who offers courses in scuba diving in the Philippines.

Physical Health

One of the main factors that you should consider if you really want to dive is your health. Apart from the diving gears, your health condition should be at 100 percent before plunging into the water. This is because most common risks that lead to death among divers are heart failure. Having an annual body check-up is advisable before diving because we all know that diving is tiring activity.

Dive on a Group

Experienced diver or not, it is always better to dive with a group of two or more. Even the simplest help is considered big underwater. And it is always more fun and exciting to dive with your friends or colleagues.

source: www.seajewelonline.com

This coming April, my friends are planning to have a summer get away of a lifetime. This would be the first time we will be experiencing the heat of the sun out of the Province of Bulacan. Before we held annual excursions in the resorts available within the province, but because all of us already have a secured job, we decided to treat ourselves somewhere else for a change.

We all dreamt of a vacation far from the city’s noises, a place where everybody can relax, play under the heat of the sun, swim, drink and party all night long without the hassle of spending too much out of our pocket. That’s when Puerto Galera entered my mind. Though, there are disagreements with everyone’s schedule, I’m sure that this plan will still be a successful one.

So this is how it’s planned, because one of my barkada had already went to Puerto Galera with his girlfriend last Valentine’s day, he’s the one in charge with our reservation. He contacted the resort they’ve stayed in recently and asked about the rates. Luckily, they offered one of their barkada packages and this is how it goes:

Not known to many, this island in the Western part of the Visayan region is a one of a kind sight to behold. What are the attractions in Maasin, Leyte?

Lady of Assumption in Jaleca Hills

It is an extremely unique chapel because it is erected on the top of the Jaleca hills. A superstitious belief have been raised that a devotee dreamt that the chapel should be built in on hill to protect them from calamities. Since then, no calamity has reached and devastated the place. Near the chapel, an extremely high man made figure of Mother Mary was built in the place. It can be seen from afar and is considered as the tallest privately owned statue in the country.

Camp Danao

This is a place familiar for the Boy Scouts of the Philippines because it is once where the national jamboree was held. Notable sites from this place are the Maasin Zoo and the man-made lake.

Cagnituan Caves

Also called as Guinsohotan cave by the locals, this cave welcomes you with a deep catch basin of water flowing from the inside. Entering the cave, you will encounter different scenarios. You will be passing a lot of slippery passages with leg up to neck deep. Inside you will also pass through a huge room filled with bats. It will be a dark and slippery adventure but I am sure that you will feel accomplished after seeing a little ray of light from the outside which means that you’ve reached the end of the cave.

3 Common Factors that Causes Diving Headaches

Dive Courses in the Philippines

It is important that before doing any sport, you should be aware of what things might arise if unexpected events happen. This is because most of the sports nowadays involve hazards that can hit you even if you’re a professional or a total newbie.

This article was brought to you by: cocktaildivers.com -a website who offers dive courses in the Philippines.

Even though it’s possible to dive accompanied by professional divers, it is still a requirement to undergo Basic training and train on the fundamentals of scuba diving.

These are the things that might arise on your dive, so be wary of these:

Wetsuit and Mask

Check your wetsuit and your mask. Wear them. Feel it. Ask yourself: “Do I feel comfortable with these?” Is my wetsuit too tight or too loose? Does the mask fit my face well? These are the common questions that you should be wary of before plunging into the water. If you had worn your wetsuit or mask years, or even decades ago, you should at least try and check if it still fits you well. If not, better buy a new one because if this issue would be taken for granted, it might cause you headaches which will distract you on your dive.

Breathing Pattern

One of the major causes of headaches is the lack of oxygen in the body. When under water, you should remember to breathe and hold. Get an ample amount of oxygen, hold and release the Carbon Dioxide inside.

Water Intake

Drink at least two glasses of water before diving. This is because drinking water gives you energy for your diving session. It helps the blood to deliver important minerals for your body. Aside from that, it also helps you to avoid dehydration which is usually experienced by divers.

Remember, prevention is better than cure.
