It is important that before doing any sport, you should be aware of what things might arise if unexpected events happen. This is because most of the sports nowadays involve hazards that can hit you even if you’re a professional or a total newbie.

Even though it’s possible to dive accompanied by professional divers, it is still a requirement to undergo Basic training and train on the fundamentals of scuba diving.

These are the things that might arise on your dive, so be wary of these:

Wetsuit and Mask

Check your wetsuit and your mask. Wear them. Feel it. Ask yourself: “Do I feel comfortable with these?” Is my wetsuit too tight or too loose? Does the mask fit my face well? These are the common questions that you should be wary of before plunging into the water. If you had worn your wetsuit or mask years, or even decades ago, you should at least try and check if it still fits you well. If not, better buy a new one because if this issue would be taken for granted, it might cause you headaches which will distract you on your dive.

Breathing Pattern

One of the major causes of headaches is the lack of oxygen in the body. When under water, you should remember to breathe and hold. Get an ample amount of oxygen, hold and release the Carbon Dioxide inside.

Water Intake

Drink at least two glasses of water before diving. This is because drinking water gives you energy for your diving session. It helps the blood to deliver important minerals for your body. Aside from that, it also helps you to avoid dehydration which is usually experienced by divers.

Remember, prevention is better than cure.
